Those of you who made it up to the mountain... how was it?

Hey Drew-

It was good to get on the mountain. Get all my new gear on, wedge my feet into my boots, strap the skis on, breath the cold mountain air.

Today was a beautiful day at Meadows. The thermometer read 28 when we got there and 35 when we left, but the sun was shining, no clouds and no wind, and it felt like 70.

The lift lines were LONG (about 30-35 minutes) and the runs were limited (as was expected), but the runs they did have open the crew did a great job to have adequate snow coverage. Everyone was in a great mood as well.

i went to timberline saturday, it was cold in the morning but then warmed up to about 38f, palmer was windy, pucci was open, but i got some nice rock scratches on my new board... all in all, it was nice to start the season, but the conditions sucked.
